I should warn you, I got nothin’ funny or sarcastic today. I am somewhat in awe, and apparently, being in awe seems to slap the sarcastic right outta me.
“What you do now is up to you. You’ve seen what you can do.
Your limits lie behind you now.” ~ John Bingham
I’ve tried to write this post for an hour, but find that words fail me. So pictures will have to do.
The rookie who started with doubt and fear but enough courage to risk failure and try.
The finish line that she knew was out there somewhere.
The runner who once asked how we can be so Relentless in the pursuit of other people’s dreams and objectives, yet not in our own.
After 13.1 miles, the newborn long-distance athlete who conquered her doubts and her fear. Who sometimes had to trade determination for courage on the days that courage didn’t show up. Who finally, after 44 years of life, got Relentless and achieved something difficult, something hard, something outside of her comfort zone … just for herself.
- Chip time: 3:21:49
- Physical condition: Like I was in a car wreck.
- Mental attitude: Like I could fly.
Never, never, never give up on your dreams.
